Japan to Require Visa Applications Through New Centers—Accredited Agencies to Stop Accepting Applications After April 6

Japan to Open Five New Visa Application Centers in the Philippines Starting April 7

The Japanese Embassy in Manila has announced the launch of five Japan Visa Application Centres (JVACs) across the Philippines, set to begin operations on April 7, 2025. These centers, managed by VFS Global, aim to streamline the visa application process and enhance convenience for applicants.

Starting March 19, applicants can schedule appointments through the VFS Global website. The new JVACs will be located in the following cities:

  • Cebu City – Faustina Center, Level 6, F. Cabahug Street, Kasambagan
  • Davao City – Unit FEG 9-10, 2nd Floor, Alfresco Area, Felcris Centrale, Quimpo Blvd.
  • Makati City – Ground Floor, Makati Circuit Corporate Center Tower Two, AP Reyes St., Barangay Carmona, Theater Drive Circuit
  • Parañaque City – Level 3, Parqal Mall, Building 5, Diokno Avenue, corner Macapagal Boulevard, Barangay Tambo
  • Quezon City – Level 3, Gateway Tower Mall, Araneta City

With the introduction of these centers, previously accredited agencies will no longer accept visa applications after April 6, 2025. However, to ensure a smooth transition, these agencies may continue submitting visa applications they have received before April 7, directly to the Japanese Embassy until April 6, 2025.

Visa Application Guidelines at the New JVACs

  • Operating Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (applications accepted until 2:00 PM).
  • Fees: A service fee of PHP 520 per application will be charged, in addition to the visa fee, which varies based on nationality and visa type. Both fees must be paid upon application submission.

For more information and appointment scheduling, applicants are advised to visit the official VFS Global website or check the Japanese Embassy’s website for updates.
